APACHE JUNCTION

LOST DUTCHMAN PARK

Location: 6109 N Apache Trail
Features:Named after the fabled lost gold mine, this desert park, at 2000 feet, is located at the base of the Superstition Mountains, a place of mystery and legend since early times. The park offers a variety of hiking trails of varying difficulty, nature trails, visitors' center, picnic facilities with restrooms, and special programs throughout the year. Well behaved dogs of all sizes are allowed. Dogs must be leashed at all times and cleaned up after. Dogs may not be left unattended in the park or in automobiles. Dogs are allowed throughout the park and on the trails, but not in public buildings. There is also a 70 unit campground (no hook-ups) with a dump station and showers that allow pets for no additional fee.

AVONDALE FRIENDSHIP PARK

Features:This dog park has both small (25 lbs. or less) and larger dog sections. Dogs must be leashed prior to entering and upon leaving a fenced area; gates must be closed at all other times. Each dog handler must be at least 12 years old or accompanied by an adult. Limited is two dogs. All dogs must be licensed, vaccinated and sporting a visible tag. Puppies must be older than 4 months. No smoking, no dog treats, no food or alcoholic beverages

CHANDLER BARK PARK (SNEDIGAR PARK)
Location: 4500 S. Alma School Road at Ocotillo; fenced, benches, handicap access, poopbags, parking, restrooms, lights, water, trash.
Features: Located at the Chandler Regional Sports Complex it offers training obstacles such as a see-saw, balance beam, tunnel, hurdles and a large A-frame. Future plans include a dog drinking fountain, additional lighting and a ramada. Open to the public except when Chandler Police K-9 units and dog obedience training classes are scheduled.

Hours: 6:00 am to 10:30 pm Tuesdays through Sundays, and from 2:30 -10:30 pm on Mondays. On Mondays from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm the park is closed to allow for maintenance
Location: south of Chandler Blvd. just north of the West Chandler Aquatic Facility.
Features: Water fountains, benches, obstacle course training. No children under 12 unattended.

DESERT VISTA PARK

Location: Saguaro Blvd and Desert Vista Drive
Features: Courtesy of Fountain Hills Parks & Recreation Dept and ADOG (Assoc of Dog Owners Group) fenced, benches, handicap access, poopbags, trees, parking, water, trash.
It has approximately 3.5 acres of turf and a 1/2 acre fenced just for little dogs; future lighting planned for night use. Please observe posted rules.

FOOTHILLS PARK

Location: 57th Ave and Union Hills
Features: 57th Avenue will be closed at Union Hills Drive beginning Monday, January 5, until approximately November 2009 to construct a bridge on 57th Avenue across Skunk Creek for pedestrian and vehicular safety during flooding. For access to Foothill Park's dog park and ball complex, please take 59th Avenue north to Utopia (1/2 mile north of Union Hills), west on Utopia to 57th Avenue and south on 57th Avenue.

Features: Large fenced-in play area, a play area for small dogs, water fountains, shade trees benches and waste stations. This is Glendale's largest dog park.

SAHUARO RANCH PARK (SW Corner)

Location: 63rd Avenue just north of Olives Avenue
Features: There is an enclosed off-leash area within this large regional park; developed by Glendale Park & Rec, the dogpark is almost an acre, with trees, benches and a dual people/dog water fountain. Please observe all park rules, posted at the entry -above all, clean up after your dog.

Features: Mesa's first off-leash dog area is located in Quail Run Park, north of McDowell Road off Greenfield. This 3+ acre area is completely fenced and features park benches, separate areas for timid and active dogs, and water fountains for both people and dogs. Owners are responsible for the behavior of their pet while off-leash, and are requested to keep their animals under control. A dispenser for doggie bags is available at the entrance to the facility. GROVERS BASIN (ECHO MOUNTAIN)

Features: Very nice dog park with ample space for pups to run and play. The area is divided into "small dog" and "large dog" areas. Additional benches and trees have recently been added as well as a water station. Big improvements from before! Mutt-Mitt dog waste dispensers are also in each area.

Features: This park isn't actually a dog park, but it is very pet friendly because of its large size, just over 11 acres. Located between Elliot and Guadalupe between just east of Rural, this park is smack dab in the middle of a housing complex. It has the usual park features: barbeque pits, lit soccer fields, lit basketball courts, a ramada, several picnic area, and a children's playground.
