THE NATE'S POINT DOG OFF-LEASH AREA
Location:Located on the West Mesa of Balboa, immediately south of El Prado/Laurel Street and east of Balboa Drive
Features:The off-leash area is approximately 2.3 acres in size, and has been used as a dog park since 1996. This off-leash park is one of the most popular dog parks in the San Diego region, and is used every day of the year. Thanks to local support of our improvement plan, the park is completely fenced, and amenities include drinking fountains, picnic tables, and a double-entry gate.

DOG PARK AT OTAY RANCH TOWN CENTER

Features: This dog park opened in Oct, 2006 in the new Otay Ranch Town Center which is also pet-friendly. The fenced, 10,000 square foot dog park is located next to the Macy's at the outdoor mall.

Features: This dog park is fully fenced and is located in the 29 acre Montevalle Park. The park is grassy and there are separate areas for small dogs and large dogs. There are drinking fountains for dogs, and cleanup bags are also available.

CLAIREMONT

CADMAN PARK
Hours: Fall/Winter/Spring- 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. & 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Summer- 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Location: 4280 Avati Dr.
Features: Users must keep dogs on leashes going to and from the leash-free area. Users must monitor and control their dogs at all times. Users must clean up after their dogs. Aggressive behavior by dogs is not permitted. Dogs must have current licenses and no contagious disease. Puppies under 4 months of age are not recommended. Spaying and neutering of dogs is recommended. Dogs in season are not allowed. Parents must closely supervise their children. Parents must ask permission from the dog owner for children to play with a dog. Excessive barking is not allowed. Pet treats and other food are not allowed, except as part of a Special Event which has a Park Use Permit. Dogs may NOT drink out of the park water fountains. Bring a bowl which you may fill from the fountain or bring bottled water. Dogs are NOT allowed in the Athletic Fields.

Features: Coronado's Dog Beach is leash-free year-round on the western part of the beach. It's marked by signs that run along Ocean Blvd. from Sunset Park on Ocean Drive to the border of the U.S. Naval Station.

Features: This 1.4 acre facility provides an area for local residents to exercise their dogs in a safe controlled environment. This handicapped accessible area has many special features including two separate areas: one for larger dogs and one for smaller/shyer breeds. There are plenty of beautiful shade trees and a shelter area with picnic tables. Your pooch will enjoy a specially designed water fountain for dogs to cool off after their romp. The park has lighting so you will be able to utilize the park at night.

FIESTA ISLAND
Hours: Open Daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm
Location: Large area of land centrally located in Mission Bay.
Features: There are bonfire rings around the shore of the island and dogs are allowed off leash. Located in Mission Bay Park, Fiesta Island offers a 5.2 mile asphalt path around the island for dogs walkers.

Features: One acre park near the Kearny Mesa Recreation Center offers one area for all dogs. The site is now lighted which allows for evening use. There is a water station for dogs and fountains for people. Parking can be a challenge during the day as the closest parking lot is used by students attending Mesa College.

Features: The main off-leash area consists of an immense grassy field, dotted with small trees, perfect for running and fetching. Spread out around the area are several litterbag dispensing stations to clean up any messes. And, thanks to the Canine Council of Morley Field [www.caninecouncilofmorleyfield.com] and its supporters, there is finally a drinking fountain, very important this time of year.

Features: This small beach has plenty of sand for the dogs to run on and waves for them to run through. On weekends there can be up to 100 dogs here, so be sure you can control your dog, use a muzzle if there's any chance of trouble and keep vaccinations up to date.

Features: The 2.5 acre park offers leash free space adjacent to Rancho Bernardo Community Park, and includes additional parking for dog park users.
